The Bangladesh government allows chili and tomato import

The government permitted import of green chilli and tomato on Sunday to help stabilise their prices in the market. The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) gave the permission against the backdrop of rocketing price trend of the items, as chilli price hit a record high of Tk 280-300 a kg on the day, registering 150 per cent hike in a week.
