The 2020 Swiss grain corn harvest hit a record high, producing 218,400 tonnes, but still falls short of covering the country's needs by 25%. The harvest benefited from ample space allocated for cultivation and impressive yields of 110 dt / ha. However, the country remains dependent on imports to meet its feed manufacturers' requirements. The 'MaisNet' project, a collaboration between the FSPC and Agroscope, aims to optimize nitrogen fertilization through data collection and analysis, with initial findings due by the end of 2021.
