The Board of Directors of the Southeast Anatolian Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association discussed the challenges faced in achieving the country's and region's export figures for the first seven months of 2021, with a total export value of 4.803 billion dollars. The Southeastern Anatolia Region contributed 1.477 billion dollars to these exports, with the majority of the exports going to the Middle East, Africa, and America. The region also experienced an increase in exports by 19.6 percent compared to the same period last year. Iraq, Syria, and Djibouti were the top three countries receiving the most exports from the region, including products such as pasta, vegetable oils, wheat flour, and other food items.
