In the first quarter of 2024, the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan regions, and the Republic of Kalmykia successfully managed the processing and export of over 1.4 million tons of grain and its processed products through the sea ports of the Astrakhan region, achieving a significant threefold increase compared to the previous year. The bulk of these exports, accounting for 99%, were directed to Iran, positioning it as the leading importer. Other recipient countries included Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iraq, among a few others. To ensure adherence to the importing countries' regulatory standards, more than 880 phytosanitary certificates were issued for the exported batches.
