The grain market in Kazakhstan has seen a significant improvement at the start of 2021, with grain stocks surpassing last year's by 7.7%, totaling 12,676,922 tons as of January 1, 2021. This increase is primarily due to a higher grain harvest of 208,394.4 thousand tons, marking a 5.6% increase from the previous year. The harvest included 15.79 million hectares of crops, with an average yield of 13.2 centners per hectare. Although the food grain stocks have seen a growth of 12.7%, the forage grains have decreased by 11.8%. The seed grain stock has also increased by 4.2% from the previous year. However, the grain stocks experienced fluctuations throughout the year, with a decrease of 15% by December 1, only to increase again by the beginning of 2021.
