In the 2023/2024 financial year, Germany's domestic grain consumption rose slightly to 40.9 million tons from 40.1 million tons the previous year, as reported by the Federal Agricultural Information Center. Of this total, 51.5% was allocated for animal feed, 21% for food production, which saw a slight decrease, and 21% for industrial and energy purposes, which increased by 4.3 percentage points. The remaining 5.8% was attributed to seed and losses.
