GRAINS/ARGENTINA: Condition of the soybean and corn crop worsens during the week

The condition of soybean crops in Argentina has worsened in the last week, informed the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange, in a weekly report. According to the document, 2% of the crop was in good or excellent condition, compared to 3% in the previous week. The portion in normal condition increased from 37% to 31%, while the percentage in fair or poor condition increased from 60% to 67%.
São Paulo, 03/03/2023 - “Sectors in the center of the agricultural area report loss of area, abortion of pods and early completion of filling as a result of the high temperatures recorded during this week,” said the exchange. As for corn, the share of the crop in good or excellent condition decreased from 9% to 6%. The exchange said that the portion in normal condition increased from 40% to 38%.
