"For the durum wheat market, there is a condition of particular interest, determined by the results that have now been achieved, regarding Italian productions, at a time when results are also coming in from North America, which has always represented one of the market drivers for the durum wheat sector."
"The durum wheat sector in Italy appears to be under pressure. However, we must say that from a strictly qualitative point of view, we have a generally good result, but with very, very significant milling yields for the processing industry, which paradoxically is protecting the prices of national durum wheat."
This was stated by Cosimo De Sortis of ANACER, on the sidelines of the "World Durum and Pasta Forum" event, held today in Rome at Palazzo Brancaccio.
"On the other hand, we have a generally weak dollar and particular productions, in terms of quantity in North America, which, inevitably, in the medium term will continue..."
