Grape shows good development in RS farms

According to the Economic Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (9), the grape crops in the administrative region of Caxias do Sul are showing full vegetative development. No severe attacks of fungal diseases or pests have been recorded, but producers continue to adopt preventive measures against anthracnose and scoriosis. "The budding is excellent, and there are good production prospects," the bulletin reports. The super-early varieties, such as Vênus, are in the berry filling phase, with adequate conditions of health and productivity. The viticulturists, however, are facing difficulties in acquiring seedlings accompanied by Embrapa's Quality Grapes Program. Most have placed orders for the 2026 planting cycle. In the Bagé region, in Quaraí, hail has affected part of the vineyards.
