The Gross Value of Production (VBP) for agriculture and livestock in Minas Gerais is projected to reach R$ 127.1 billion in 2024, marking a record high and showing a 1.8% growth from the previous year. This increase is primarily driven by the crops segment, which is expected to generate R$85.1 billion, accounting for 67% of the total revenue. Coffee, in particular, is expected to have the highest growth, with an estimated VBP of R$30.8 billion and a 12.5% increase compared to the previous year. The livestock segment is also expected to see growth, with an estimated VBP of R$41.9 billion, driven by the chicken and pork sectors. However, the milk segment is expected to see a decrease of 14.6% compared to the previous year, and beef is expected to fall by 3.9%.
