Growers in Serbia are fighting for a minimum price of raspberries of PLN 13 per kilogram

Intense talks are underway in Serbia between the local Ministry of Agriculture and raspberry growers. Taking into account the experience from last season, the main topic is, of course, prices. Growers declare that they will not harvest crops below 350 dinars per kilogram. The latest talks between the Serbian Minister of Agriculture and growers ended with a promise of another meeting, at which growers, collection points, processors and exporters are to appear to set prices before the season. Representatives of associations of raspberry growers hope to implement this meeting and establish minimum prices for raspberries for 2024. They say directly that unless specific arrangements are reached, the local industry will face a series of bankruptcies of growers.
