A local family in Cam Ranh city, Vietnam, has found success in custard-apple farming, switching from sugarcane due to lower yields. The family, led by Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, planted Thai and traditional custard-apple varieties, overcoming initial pest issues and low yields through experience and learning. The farm, covering one hectare, yields about 200 million VND annually, with Thai custard-apples selling for a higher price. Other farmers in the area, including Vinh Nam village in Cam An Nam commune, have also experienced success with Thai custard-apples, contributing to steady income and high economic value. The local farmers' union is promoting custard-apple cultivation, highlighting its adaptability to various soil conditions and promising market demand.
