Turkey: Pine nut producer reached $ 30 million in exports by growing business with the support from the state

Serkan Karatosun, who produces pine nuts in Aydın's Koçarlı district, expanded his business with the support of 1 million 200 thousand liras from the state and reached an annual export figure of 30 million dollars. Serkan Karatosun, the third generation representative of the business, applied to the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI) in 2014 to expand its thousand square meter facility. A grant of 1 million 200 thousand liras was given to Karatosun, whose project was accepted. With the support it received, Karatosun, which acquired machinery equipment by establishing a facility with a closed area of 4 thousand square meters in one year, increased its production capacity from 70 tons to 350 tons. Karatosun, which also conducts researches to send products abroad, started exporting in 2015.
