The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has reviewed the crop production for the winter-spring crop 2021-2022 and developed a production plan for the summer-autumn crop and the 2022 season. The winter-spring crop covered 12,083 hectares, with rice, vegetables, corn, and beans, resulting in over 58,849 tons. The growth rate for the first three months was 3.68%. The summer-autumn crop is expected to cover more than 25,335 hectares, but pest and disease situations and the consumption market are expected to be challenging. The Department is urging farmers to follow the seasonal schedule and use high-quality seeds, while other units need to strengthen coordination to enhance irrigation systems and provide advanced farming techniques.
