The article reports that the guarana harvest in Amazonas, Brazil is expected to surpass the 2019 harvest of 76 tons of processed dry seeds, with an estimated 100 tonnes for this year. The state is the second largest producer in the country. The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) has also introduced the first guarana cultivar, BRS Noçoquem, which can be reproduced by seeds, after 21 years of research.
