Gübretaş workers have gone on strike

Workers at the Gübretaş factory in Körfez district of Kocaeli went on strike after failing to reach an agreement in collective bargaining negotiations. Negotiations between the Petrol-İş Union and the General Directorate of Agricultural Credit Cooperative have been ongoing since January without reaching a consensus. Workers halted production and began a strike to demand the raises and improvements they believe they deserve. Teoman Aydınoğlu, Vice President of the Petrol-İş Union's Kocaeli Branch, stated in a statement, "We could not agree in our collective bargaining negotiations that have been ongoing since January. As of yesterday, we left the negotiation table. The employer had offered us a 30 percent proposal in March. In yesterday's session, they again presented the same offer.
