The Gyeongbuk Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services Research Institute has issued a warning about thrips, a vector of the pepper virus, during the pepper self-growing season. The cultivation of pepper seedlings has been halted due to the confirmed occurrence of thrips, which transmit color disease. Farmers are advised to use dedicated chemicals for control, install yellow sticky traps for surveillance, and manage thrips and aphids from the seedling stage. The institute also anticipates an increase in the occurrence of aphids, which transmit various viruses, in peppers from March onwards.
