In Gyeongnam Province, the increase in fishing activities and fishing boat users during the spring season, along with worsening weather conditions such as sea fog, has heightened the risk of accidents, prompting the implementation of intensified safety management. Until June 19, a concentrated safety inspection of fishing boats (fishing) and fishing spots will be conducted. This safety inspection, targeting 300 fishing boats, 300 fishing boats for leisure, and 3 fishing spots within Gyeongnam Province, will be jointly conducted by related organizations including municipal and county governments, the Coast Guard, the Korea Maritime and Port Authority, and the Fishing Boat Safety Management Office. The inspection will cover: △electrical and mechanical checks of fishing boats (fishing), △confirmation of illegal overbuilding and possession of safety equipment (life jackets, navigation and communication devices), △verification of registration confirmation certificates for fishing boats and whether passenger compliance items are posted, △regulations for managing fishing spots.
