[Korean Farmers' Newspaper Reporter Jin-woo Lee] The Central Avian Influenza Incident Management Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the Central Headquarters) announced on the 9th that H5 avian influenza antigens were confirmed in a broiler farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, housing approximately 18,000 birds. The Central Headquarters preemptively deployed an initial response team to the farm, implementing measures such as access control, culling, and epidemiological investigation in accordance with the "Avian Influenza Prevention Regulations" and the "Avian Influenza Emergency Action Guidelines," citing the high likelihood of the H5 avian influenza antigen detection being judged as highly pathogenic. The Central Headquarters also added that access to potential contact points for the virus, such as migratory bird arrival areas, was being controlled.
