Hail destroys silage corn areas in Sarandi

The Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar on Thursday (13) indicates that the majority of corn crops intended for silage in Rio Grande do Sul are in the germination and vegetative development stage, a phase that represents approximately 89% of the cultivated area. According to the document, about 10% of the crops are in bloom, while grain filling remains "incipient," covering less than 1% of the total. The entity highlights that the advancement of phenological stages is linked to the staggered planting and regional differences, such as in the Northwest Region, where areas sown earlier have already begun grain maturation. Seeding continues in a staggered manner, a strategy adopted to reduce the risks associated with the La Niña phenomenon.
