The early potato harvest in Adana, Turkey, has started with promising results, yielding a high output and selling at 17 liras per kilogram. With an expected total yield of around 300 thousand tons from 66 thousand decares, Adana contributes significantly to Turkey's agricultural sector, producing 220 thousand tons out of the country's total 5 and a half million tons. This year's production has seen a 10 percent increase compared to previous years. Despite the high costs that have led to increased prices, farmers are satisfied with the efficiency and yield of the harvest. Prices are expected to decrease slightly as the harvest continues. The agricultural strategy in place aims to ensure a balance between the needs of consumers and producers, promoting sustainable production and distribution.
