Hops production in the Pazaryeri district, covering about 1,450 acres and involving around 500 farmers, has suffered due to a dry summer, leading to significantly lower yields. Despite the 2024 hop purchase prices being set at 69 TL for aroma types and 67 TL for other varieties, farmers like Fahrettin Kınık have reported harvests as low as one-tenth of their usual output. Zafer Kozpınar, President of the Pazaryeri and Villages Hop and Rose Growers Agricultural Development Cooperative, highlighted the difficulties posed by the harsh climate conditions this year and expressed hope for improved yields in the future.
