Between January and June of 2021, Turkey saw a significant increase in its hazelnut exports, reaching 148,526 tons and earning $1.38 billion in revenue. This represents a notable rise from the same period last year, which brought in 142,081 tons and $909.5 million. These hazelnuts found their way into 120 different countries, with Germany, Italy, and France being the largest importers. The first half of the year also marked a milestone as Senegal, Chile, Afghanistan, Costa Rica, Peru, Tanzania, Mongolia, Benin, Guinea, Niger, Bahamas, Gabon, and Nepal began importing Turkish hazelnuts for the first time.
