Drones are being used in Chinese farms to spray drugs on corn, replacing skilled labor and saving 20% of pesticides. They are also used for agricultural monitoring, insurance surveys, and inspecting power lines. China Agricultural University is using drones with hyperspectral imaging technology to monitor stevia plants. Xingtai City has commissioned drones to survey an area affected by pests and diseases in Taihang Mountain. Hebei Mechanical and Electrical Profession has started a course on agriculture-related drones and opened a major in UAV application technology in 2017.
