Due to drought conditions in North America, ranchers are selling heifers at a high rate, accounting for up to 44% of calf disposals in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. Despite the current high prices of calves and an increase in marketing volumes, the liquidation of the female herd continues. While slaughter rates have decreased by 7% compared to the previous year, imports are on the rise for countries in the region such as Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
