Argentina and Paraguay are actively seeking a resolution to their dispute over Argentina's imposition of a $1.47 per ton toll on the Paraná-Paraguay waterway, a move that contradicts the 'Santa Cruz de la Sierra' Agreement. In efforts led by Argentina's General Administration of Ports Society of the State (AGPSE) under President Javier Milei, stakeholders convened to address the bilateral conflict and enhance the waterway's navigability. The meeting concluded with an agreement to form a technical working group aimed at improving consultation mechanisms and optimizing services for navigation, alongside devising a compensation strategy that adopts a holistic approach.
