Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, participated in the first honey collection event in Bingöl, which is the first honey from Turkey registered in the European Union with a geographical indication. Yumaklı emphasized that beekeeping is one of the most important agricultural activities in Turkey and stated: "Bingöl honey will become a brand that will cross the borders of Turkey." The first honey collection in Bingöl in 2025 took place at the Modern Beekeeping Complex of Bingöl University.
