According to officials, although Hongseong is not a primary strawberry-producing area, 395 farms are cultivating strawberries on a scale of 146 hectares. Hongseong strawberries are a lucrative crop for the region, generating over 30 billion won in annual sales. Notably, due to superior cultivation techniques compared to other regions, Hongseong strawberries command prices that are on average 20% higher than the national average in major wholesale markets. Additionally, new varieties such as 'Honghee' and 'Goldberry' cultivated by the Hongseong government are attracting attention in both domestic and international markets.
