Huánuco: 250 families are betting on alternative development with passion fruit cultivation in Chinchao, Peru

In a bid to strengthen the legal and sustainable economy, the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) has begun a new stage of direct intervention in the district of Chinchao, province and region of Huánuco, with the incorporation of 250 producing families to the cultivation of granadilla. This initiative, with an investment of S/298,804 for this year, began with the signing of memorandums of understanding in seven communities: El Mirador, Chinchao, Challana, Tres Cantarillas, Villa Gloria, Túpac Amaru and Jesús Nazareno de Macora. Through these voluntary agreements, Devida seeks to promote alternative development as an effective strategy to promote sustainable economies and away from illicit activities.
