The National Auction of Special Coffees from the Alto Huallaga, held in the city of Huánuco, marked a new milestone for regional coffee cultivation by reaching a record price of S/170 per kilo of parchment coffee. This achievement consolidates the value, quality, and competitiveness of specialty coffee produced in the Alto Huallaga valleys, thanks to the support of the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida). The winning lot belonged to Dalila Díaz Gamarra, a producer from the Cholón district (Marañón), whose Geisha variety coffee, grown at 2100 meters above sea level, achieved a score of 87.08 points in the Alto Huallaga Special Coffees Competition. Her microlot of 139.15 kg was purchased by the company Tunki Katari, from Lima, for a total of S/23,655.50.
