Aragón, a region in Spain, is a major contributor to the global black truffle production, harvesting approximately 80 tons from 10,000 hectares annually. The Diputación de Huesca has allocated a total of 5.5 million euros over 19 years for subsidies to support truffle cultivation, leading to the expansion of the crop from 11 hectares in 2002 to 1,660 hectares today. The region also plans to hold a technical conference on the black truffle in Daroca, with participation from international companies like Urbani Tartufi, Laumont, and Aragotruf. The conference aims to discuss various aspects of truffle cultivation, marketing, and sustainability.
