(Hongcheon=Yonhap News) Reporter Im Bo-yeon = Hongcheon County signed a contract on the 6th with the Hongcheon and Chuncheon branches of the Korea Rural Community Corporation for the "Anheung District Rural Space Development Project" (Rural Specialization District Type) to commence the project in earnest.
The two organizations agreed to entrust the entire process, from the establishment of the basic plan to the completion of the construction and handover, to the Korea Rural Community Corporation's Hongcheon and Chuncheon branches in accordance with the project implementation guidelines.
Hongcheon County was selected for the rural space development project competition to be held by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in September of this year, and plans to invest 10 billion won in the Anheung area by 2029.
The rural space development project is a project to link and support two or more rural specialization districts.
A "Rural Village Protection Area" will be designated in the densely populated residential areas of Anheung, and a "Rural Fusion Complex Industry Area" will be designated in the area where Anheung jjinddeok bakeries are concentrated to promote mutual development.
The goal of the Rural Fusion Complex Industry Area is to establish a system for the production, processing, distribution, and sales of red beans, which are produced in large quantities in the region, to develop the sixth industry in a mutually beneficial way.
The project plans to enhance the brand value of Anheung jjinddeok by linking it with the existing Anheung jjinddeok Morakmorak Village and "tourism & experience" utilizing local resources.
In addition, plans are in place to improve the living conditions in the region and promote the influx of young people by constructing rental housing for young people and entrepreneurs, and creating rest areas and parking lots in the Rural Village Protection Area in conjunction with the Rural Fusion Complex Industry Area.
County Mayor Kim Myeong-gi said, "This will be an opportunity to promote the high added value of red beans produced in the region and to further increase the region's recognition along with Anheung jjinddeok," and added, "We will closely cooperate with the Korea Rural Community Corporation to support the successful advancement of the project."
