By Daniela Amorim Rio, 07/11/2025 - Almost half (49%) of Brazilian municipalities did not have an organizational structure that addressed food and nutritional security policy for the population last year. The data is from the Food and Nutritional Security Supplement of the Municipal (Munic) and State (Estadic) Basic Information Survey 2024, released this Friday by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Of the 5,544 Brazilian municipalities that responded to the survey, 2,678 did not have a structure focused on the management of food and nutritional security policy last year.
