The production of winter forages for direct grazing, making rolls, or even silage, is a very common practice within the livestock activity aimed at meat or milk production. However, an experiment conducted by professors from the National University of Luján seems to demonstrate that there is still much room for improvement and obtaining better yields. Developed by the Chair of Pasture Production and Utilization, the work aimed to sow different proportions of oats and ryegrass to analyze which combinations of these crops yielded the best results. "In Uruguay, the mixture of these pastures is quite common, but in Argentina, we are not used to doing it. It is more cultural than anything else. That's why we conducted an experiment where we evaluated pure productions of these forages, in addition to their mixtures in different percentages.
