MAIN EVENTS The forecast for global grain production (wheat and feed grain) in 2025/26 has been increased by 13 million tons on a monthly basis to 2425 million tons. This is the third consecutive increase, and, as in the previous month, the revision primarily reflects the growth in wheat and barley production, as the latest data confirmed higher-than-expected yields in a number of key producers. Since only part of the increased supply, exceeding forecasts by 5 million tons, is directed to consumption, forecasting 2400 million tons, the forecast for global ending stocks (the sum of corresponding local marketing years) has been increased by 12 million tons on a monthly basis to a three-year maximum of 618 million tons.
