The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) has forecasted a record soybean production of 44.3 million tons for the 2022/23 season, which is an 8.35% increase from the previous cycle, due to higher area and productivity. This is despite losses caused by drought in Rio Grande do Sul. Corn production is expected to grow by 5.87% over the previous harvest, reaching 46.4 million tons. Cotton lint production is estimated at 2 million tons, with an increase in planted area leading to a rise in production, despite a decrease in the annual area.
