It should not be expected that Ukrainian pork will be fully replaced by imported pork in the near future – at least until Ukraine joins the European Union. This was stated by the head of the analytical department of the association "Pig Breeders of Ukraine" Olexandra Bondarska, writes UNIAN. She recalled that the European Union has now introduced quotas for pork supplies to Ukraine at the level of 45 thousand tons, which have doubled since October 29. "The interest of European suppliers in supplying within the increased volume of quotas for duty-free pork supplies to Ukraine will remain. The relevance of their offers for Ukrainian meat processing will depend on whether they allow optimizing raw material costs," says Bondarska.
