Special for Infocampo Data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) for March confirm the increase in the importation of soybeans from Paraguay, which in March reached 976,000 tons, marking an increase of 17% from the 831,000 tons in February. In this way, the accumulated figure for the first quarter of the year climbs to 1.84 million tons, the highest importation since 2019 when 2.10 million tons were imported in the first quarter. The volume imported in March means that approximately one third of the grinding for that month corresponded to raw material from abroad. In this way, it is feasible that in April we will see a similar volume of imports, which also has a role in correcting the protein content of Argentine soybeans.
