From January to October 2022, Ukraine experienced a 41.4% increase in pork imports, totaling 45.1 thousand tons, with a 58% rise in import value compared to the same period in 2021, reaching $93 million. This surge is attributed to high domestic pork prices, with the average import price in October being 6.2% higher than September at $2.2/kg. The main suppliers of imported pork were Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland, accounting for 35.2%, 24.5%, and 21.9% of imports, respectively. This trend highlights the role of imports in regulating pork prices in Ukraine.
