From January to August 2021, Russia saw a 2.9% increase in agricultural exports to the European Union, reaching 4.2 million tons with a value of $2.4 billion, a 32% increase from the same period in 2020. The main exports included fish products, meal and cake, and grain crops. There was a significant increase in the export of crustaceans, fish fillets, and wheat to the Netherlands and Latvia. The European Union, the world's leading seller and buyer of food products, imported cheeses, cottage cheese, pork, bakery and flour confectionery, animal feed, coffee, and chocolate. Non-EU countries like the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the United States were the leading suppliers of agricultural products to the bloc. The OECD forecasts that in 2030, the EU will import 21.8 million tons of corn, 1.6 million tons of meat, and 8.6 million tons of fish and seafood.
