In 2022, China emerged as the leading importer of oilseed flax from Kazakhstan, marking a significant increase of 2.89 times compared to 2021. The country imported a total of 174.06 thousand tons of oil flax from Kazakhstan, surpassing Belgium, which had been the leading importer in 2021 with 107.8 thousand tons. The surge in China's imports was particularly noticeable in the month of December 2022, where it imported 28.08 thousand tons compared to 10 thousand tons in the same period of the previous year.
