In 2022, China's imported apple volume saw a 40% increase, reaching 95,500 tons and marking the largest import volume in three seasons. New Zealand and South Africa were the primary suppliers, contributing 58% and 17% of the imports, respectively. Other countries like the United States, France, Australia, and Poland also exported apples to China, with the United States noticeably increasing its export volume. This surge in imports reflects the growing demand for premium apples among China's wealthy population.
