Argentina's wine industry faced a challenging year in 2023, with a significant decrease in both domestic and international sales, and a lean harvest. The National Institute of Viticulture reported a 6.3% drop in local wine sales, totaling 775.2 million liters, and a 23.3% fall in exports of fractionated wine. Despite a rise in average product prices, the sector's total revenue dropped by 16.4% to USD 640.9 million. The industry has successfully campaigned for the removal of an 8% export tax rate.
