In Alaplı district of Zonguldak, hazelnut producers, following the end of the season, turned to modern roasting facilities instead of roasting snack hazelnuts at home. Producers, who sold the majority of their harvested crop, are also delivering hundreds of kilograms of hazelnuts remaining in their possession to professional facilities. The place of hazelnuts roasted on the stove has been taken by hygienic roasting processes done in state-of-the-art machines today. Hazelnuts roasted in modern facilities are vacuum-packed to be stored for a long time before being delivered to producers.
