Tridge summary

Winter rapeseed requires boron throughout the entire growing period. Therefore, it is recommended to fertilize it with this element foliarly several times during critical phenological phases. In autumn, during the 4-6 leaf phase, Serhiy Adamenko, head of the product development and microfertilizer services department at Ukravit, advises fertilizing winter rapeseed with an easily assimilable boron fertilizer based on organic polyborates, Vanguard Bor (boron (B) — 150, nitrogen (N) — 65 g/l) at a rate of 1.0 l/ha.

Balanced mineral nutrition for winter rapeseed, especially in autumn, is the key to successful overwintering and realizing its high productivity potential. Therefore, during the autumn period, experts from the company Ukravit recommend applying nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, manganese, zinc, molybdenum, and also paying attention to boron nutrition in optimal rates, according to the company's press service. It is noted that monitoring by the Ukravit Institute has established that over 40% of Ukraine's soils have low and medium mobile boron levels, at 0.1-0.3 mgB/kg of soil. "Winter rapeseed is a typical boron lover. For every ton of commercial and non-commercial production, it removes 80-120 g of boron from the soil, including 25% of the total requirement in autumn, which is 100-150 g/ha. Boron performs a number of important functions: cell division, growth and development of the root system and vegetative organs, promoting the absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus, and ...
