The Ermekeyevsky district has begun collecting camelina, a oilseed crop, despite drought conditions. The plant, which is suitable for both food and technical oil, is grown to make biofuels and cosmetics. It is a cost-effective culture that requires no chemical treatment or fertilization and improves soil health. After the camelina harvest, the fields will be sown with winter wheat. Despite the drought, farmers are expecting a good yield of 12 centners per hectare.
