The Federation of Cattle Ranchers of Santa Cruz (Fegasacruz) recently met with the Vice Minister of Consumer Protection, Jorge Silva, to discuss the impact of meat exports on the domestic market. The meeting aimed to address concerns such as quality, pricing, and supply. Silva concluded that meat exports should not be suspended, as they do not affect the quality or availability of meat in the domestic market. He also emphasized that exports are a crucial part of Bolivia's economic strategy, with a target of exporting 35,000 metric tons this year. The government has announced a meeting to address the trader's association's claims and to reach a consensus, focusing on ensuring the domestic supply, maintaining meat quality, and continuing to defend exports as a tool for economic development.
