The article reports on the sowing progress in the Cherkasy region of Ukraine, with key crops already at various stages of sowing despite challenges from a long and rainy spring. As of now, 90% of spring wheat, 80% of barley and oats, and 40% of sugar beet have been sown. Due to the sandy soil and the need for moisture, farmers have had to adjust their schedules and are now starting to plant potatoes, vegetables, and sunflowers, with 200 hectares already sown. One agricultural enterprise has also sown 150 hectares of peas. Despite the setbacks, the region aims to meet its sowing targets, planning to sow around two thousand hectares by early May, including crops such as winter wheat and sunflower, as well as corn.
