Georgia has seen a 90% decrease in anthrax in animals in 2021 compared to 2013, with up to 1.2 million animals vaccinated annually. The country has also seen an increase in its cattle population but a decrease in sheep, goats, and pigs. From 2022, farmers in Georgia will be eligible for cash compensation if their livestock die from anthrax, provided a laboratory confirmation is made and the animals have been vaccinated.
