Among these, Ecuador's white shrimp imports reached 69,327 tons, a significant year-on-year increase of 16%; while India's shrimp imports decreased by 7% year-on-year to 14,570 tons.
From the beginning of the year to now, China has cumulatively imported 519,437 tons of frozen warm-water shrimp, a year-on-year decrease of 2%; the import volume is approximately 2.73 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 7%, and the import unit price shows a year-on-year upward trend. The import volume increased significantly from May to July, so the reduction in import volume from January to July has narrowed to some extent.
From January to July, Ecuador exported 389,069 tons of white shrimp to China, basically unchanged from the same period last year, with Ecuadorian shrimp accounting for 75% of China's import market. The import value of Ecuadorian shrimp from January to July increased by 7% year-on-year to 1.89 billion U.S. dollars. India's shrimp exports showed a downward trend, with a cumulative import volume of 76,330 tons from January to July, a year-on-year decrease of 7%, and an import value of 432 million U.S. dollars.
In addition to Ecuador, Myanmar's white shrimp exports to China increased significantly, with sales of 2,942 tons from January to July, a year-on-year increase of 96%; Argentina's red shrimp exports were 12,471 tons, a year-on-year increase of 37%; Thailand's white shrimp sales increased by 13% year-on-year to 13,958 tons.
Recently, exports from some countries have shown a downward trend. In July, Venezuela's white shrimp sales decreased by 97% year-on-year to 47 tons; from January to July, Saudi shrimp imports decreased by 64% year-on-year to 2,963 tons; Vietnam's shrimp imports decreased by 10% year-on-year to 4,608 tons.
